Recently, my family was telling me about our neighbor’s rule for conversation. When you’re not sure about saying something, you should be able to answer “yes” to two of the three questions below before it comes out of your mouth:
Is it true?
Is it kind?
Is it necessary?
As I practice kindness this year, this approach will come in handy. Whether at a party full of strangers or talking to my sister, more mindful conversation is a good thing.
