Our Dinner Blessing

Ann Street Studio

I grew up in a household that was all about family dinners.  It took me a while to appreciate all the effort my mom put in to get homemade dinner on the table every night.  It took me even longer to realize that this is a rare family ritual, something most of my friends didn’t experience and that isn’t really a “thing” anymore.

Each night we’d sit down together, sharing our favorite and least favorite parts of the day over dinner.  But before all that, we’d say the blessing that we borrowed from Madeline and that has stuck with us ever since.

We love our bread,
We love our butter,
But most of all,
We love each other.

Can I get an “amen”?
